New Year's Resolutions

5:33 AM |

Should old acquaintance be forgot...

Every new year people start making massive lists about what they'll change. Be it behaviors, appearance, professional development, or personal development, the new year brings about a need to revise self. This new year I have decided not to make a massive list. This year my list will include 2 things.

1. Focus and Finish. Doesn't matter what it is as long as I finish what I started. Too often there are so many things I want to do. Places to go, ideas to develop, websites to complete, and the list goes on and on and on. Things will never happen for me if I don't finish. So that is my first resolve. Focus and Finish. Notice the new look? I've been trying to re-design this blog for a long time now. I have this template. I kinda like it. Being an artist I'll never fully be happy with it. It's got a few bugs but it's in there. So I'm starting off pretty good so far.

2. Take time for self. To be honest I'm tired. I put energy in to my work. I put energy into my students. I put energy into my friends. I put energy into my finances. However at times when I needed some of those same people, emotionally or otherwise I found myself standing alone. I learned a lot this year and I surely won't be putting the energy into people who don't return the favor. Don't get me wrong, a lot of what brings me joy is being able to help other people and I will always be a shoulder to lean on for all my friends. But your comfort and happiness won't keep me warm at night.

So when you make your resolutions make them attainable and realistic. You'll get to the end of the year and look back and be able to see what you've managed to accomplish. So whatever you resolve to do this year I wish you much success. To health, prosperity and happiness. *Cheers*
